Later in the manga, just before Kisaki was killed in a truck accident 12 years ago, he confesses to loving Hina. Takemitchi realizes that Kisaki was murdering Hina because she said no in the future, and Kisaki kills her every time out of hatred.
Kisaki loved Hina and was once Japan’s best student. When Hina got into difficulty with some bigger children, Takemitchi stepped in and stole her heart.
Because Takemitchi considered himself a delinquent at the time, Kisaki believes Hina loves Takemitchi for being a delinquent, and as a result, Kisaki becomes a delinquent himself.
